Exploring Denmark

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

Copenhagen is probably now my favorite city in the world. There’s so much to see and do here all year round, and it’s easy to get from place to place. Here are some of the places that I’ve visited that are must go to places whilst you’re in Denmark:

1. Nyhavn

Nyhavn would have to be the most iconic part of Copenhagen. Before arriving in Denmark, I envisioned it to look exactly like Nyhavn because that’s what all the images of Copenhagen look like when you search it up on Google. This is definitely a must-go place to take photos and is quite central so you can walk to town to go shopping, hit up a cafe and enjoy the canal.

2. Stroget Street

Stroget street is the main shopping street in Copenhagen. There are lots of stores known worldwide located on this street from H&M to UniQlo. One shop I definitely recommend making a stop at too is “Flying Tiger Copenhagen.” It’s got the cutest Nik Naks that are great for little gifts, or if you’re looking for some cheap buys, there’s quite a lot that the local store has to offer.

3. Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli is an amusement park in Tivoli, Denmark. I was shocked when I realized the abundance of large rides they had available at the park despite how compact the city is. Many locals recommend that you visit Tivoli Gardens during the wintertime to see the decorations but not go on the rides just yet because it may get too cold. Once the weather starts to warm up, head over to try out some of the rides.

4. Faelldenparken

Faelldenparken truly was a gem that I coincidentally found. It is a large park that many sporting events and festivals take place. Additionally, it's also where I go to play touch rugby every Sunday. The park is huge with lots of space to bike, walk, and run around. There is a lovely lake, just the perfect place to be for a morning Sunday stroll.

5.Torvehallerne Market

This market is located right out of Norreport station. A small farmers market type thing that is opened every day. The meals can be slightly on the more expensive side, but it really is worth going. There is a wide selection of food and beverages that they have to offer. The ambiance of the place is also so welcoming its great energy to be around.

6. The Round Tower

The Round Tower is a must go spot in Copenhagen because it’s got the best view of the city. There is a small fee to enter during the day, however, after 6 pm, it’s free. I recommend visiting at night to enjoy picturesque stars on a clear night.
